Post Nine – No more red tees.
The topic of women tees and golf clubs has been a hot topic in the group, around the globe there has been a movement to change the name of ‘ladies tees’ or ‘red tees’ to alternative names. There has been a collection of amazing recommendations in the group, something that all golf clubs should make a movement towards.
Carolyn shared this on Women Who Golf
Hi ladies. I’m in Australia. My hubby is on our golf club committee. The club currently has men’s tees, ladies’ tees etc. We are wanting to put a proposal to the club about changing the gender named tees to a more inclusive name so both men and women can tee off the same tees if you understand what I’m saying (Eg change name/rerate to be non-gender Blue tees, red tees or forward tees).
We have men who struggle off the back tees and women who would like to play from the back tees.
My question is if your club has done this, has it been successful or not?
We are keen to see how your club made the changeover and how we might approach it.
