Course data and attribution

Contains data from OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL).

The initial North American dataset was extracted on 8 September 2026. It includes named golf courses and their supplied OpenStreetMap tags and geometry. Missing addresses are filled only when supported by location evidence; unresolved details remain blank. Coordinates for areas are bounding-box centres, not verified entrances.

Download the initial OSM base dataset (compressed NDJSON). This source dataset is available under ODbL. Original OSM type, ID, version and timestamp are preserved for future updates.

Country detection uses Natural Earth public-domain map units, supplemented where needed by geoBoundaries country boundaries. Source details and review flags are retained with each country assignment. Boundary matching is an inference; uncertain cases are flagged for review.

Boundary refinement credits: geoBoundaries (Runfola et al.), United States Census Bureau (public domain), OpenStreetMap contributors for Canada (ODbL), and World Bank for Mexico (CC BY 4.0). These boundaries are used to derive country assignments. Download the derived country assignments.

Permanent address and administrative-location corrections may use Overture Maps Foundation data. Division boundaries include © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), geoBoundaries, Esri Community Maps contributors and Land Information New Zealand (CC BY 4.0). Place data retains its source-specific CDLA Permissive 2.0, Apache 2.0 or CC0 licence. Contributors include Meta, Microsoft, PinMeTo, Krick, RenderSEO, DAC, BrightQuery, AllThePlaces and Foursquare. Foursquare data: Copyright 2024 Foursquare Labs, Inc.; transformed to the Overture schema. Foursquare licence notices. Source identifiers, licence, matching method and review status are retained with each correction. A boundary match identifies an administrative area, not a clubhouse entrance or street address.

WWG member profiles, course relationships, member reviews, photos, private activity and commercial analytics are stored separately and are not included in this download. Other source material retains its own licence.
